Heimer Duck and Chicken Grill

Heimer’s duck and chicken grill is the last old-school small tent at the Oktoberfest and returned to the Wiesn in 2017 after a one-year forced hiatus. However, since then, instead of the usual 400 seats, only 300 guests can be accommodated. To make up for this, there are now additional seating and standing areas outside, next to the building. The location has also changed: The tent has moved to Street 2, set up diagonally behind the Augustiner tent, where the Hippodrom used to be located decades ago. Otherwise, little has changed except for the mural on the tent’s facade.

Heimer has made it its mission to be “the last true chicken and duck rotisserie” at the Oktoberfest, positioning itself as a food-focused oasis of calm. The focus is on the duck dishes that define the tent’s identity. Only since 2017, half chickens and Paulaner wheat beer have also been on the menu. Although music hasn’t been completely omitted since 2022, there is still no music stage or fixed performance schedule.
